For Christmas I asked my parents for a gift card to Lowes (haha I know right?) and this week my wonderful husband helped my dreams of a beautiful back splash come true.
We did have a little bit of a back splash that was here when we bought our house, but I wasn't that into it.
The demo (I bribed him with Del Taco)
Anni spent the demo time on the couch with her ears plugged.
The project actually didn't take that long, but with both of us working and waiting for things to set, it took us almost a week start to finish. Because our kitchen was a disaster during this time we had picnics with a blanket on the family room floor every night which Annika loved.Ta Da
I love how it turned out! I think it looks great with the granite and I've always just loved the look of slate.
After the back splash was finished, I just couldn't handle how the white outlets and covers looked so we ended up switching them out for stainless steel ones.
We also added some accent lighting under the cabinets.And a sneak peak at our upcoming projects...
